Faithful Ladies is holding an online assembly in November 2020. It will last for 6 days. There will be one day for each of the five dimensions that our training covers plus a bonus day for speakers who have inspirational ideas. The advantage of this being an online assembly is that we can invite speakers from anywhere in the world, as long as they speak English, without having to worry about the cost of traveling expenses and finding them somewhere to stay.
Yes, that was written before we knew anything about Covid19 or the virus that caused it. I was starting to plan a Spring Assembly before everything I was doing was impacted by a very unhelpful conversation with someone who I had expected to help me but instead imposed some considerable restrictions upon me. It sent me into a tailspin for weeks. First I had to recover from the impact of what had happened and then I had to come to terms with a new way of doing things.
Facing a shakeup like that makes you realise exactly what is important to you. With me, I became even more determined to carry on trying to do what I felt I was called to do.
While all that was going on we started to hear about Covid19. Once we got over the shock of the impact of the social distancing required to reduce the impact of this virus it did not take long to see what was most important to people.
One of the things that dawned on me as I thought about what was important to me was building online connections and encouraging others to do the same. I wanted to see the online prayer meetings, online church services even online singing for either adults or children. Going back to the idea of an online gathering made sense as well.
The beauty about it being online is that it reduces the costs considerably. This means that it is free to attend. However, there is one little catch we need to be able to stay in touch with you to make it work so you will need to register. There is a form further down the page but first, have a read through what is on offer and see if this event is for you.
What is included in the Ladies Assembly 2020?
The five dimensions that we were commissioned to cover are
Day 1 – Initiation (Monday)
This day is designed to help us put the basic foundations in place so that we can go forwards. One of the most important is self-acceptance and recognising that we have enough value to be treated kindly and with respect. It is surprising how many people struggle with this. Yet without this foundation stone in place, it is difficult to build a career, a business, a marriage. There is another foundational skill for Christians, that we really need to master and that is is how to listen to the voice of God as how do you follow someone when you struggle to hear them.
Day 1 speakers and topics include:
Day 2 – Recognition (Tuesday)
The aim of this day is to help us recognise who we are and what we are capable of doing. It includes uncovering our gifts and talents. As well as that it is necessary to work out what our strengths and weaknesses are so that we can truly fulfil our potential.
Day 2 speakers and topics include:
Day 3 – Impartation (Wednesday)
This is an exciting day it is about learning the skills that help us do what God wants. Yes, it does include things that you might not be taught in your church like how to pray like that other group does. It is quite surprising what we can learn from each other in that respect. It is not just what we say either it is how we interpret what we read. It is amazing what we can learn in terms of principles that will help us in a variety of situations just by reading the bible.
Day 3 speakers and topics include:
Day 4 – Embarkation (Thursday)
Well, how do you set off on the journey towards building ministries and businesses? There are all sorts of practicalities that need to be covered. This is where you plan the route and start to put that plan into action. You need to know what is going on around you (i.e. market research). You need to know what sort of vehicle you are going to use (i.e. business or charity) and what that vehicle is capable of doing (i.e. what your outcomes are going to be). You need to know where you are going (i.e. what are your goals). For many, it means setting off on a journey with a basic vehicle that has no frills and but that can move and is the basis of a much better vehicle later in the journey.
Day 4 speakers and topics include:
Day 5 – Perspiration (Friday)
We cannot forget about those in the thick of things doing the actual work. It can be hard work and we need people who will mop our brow and pick us up when we collapse with exhaustion. This is the time when we need to do the things that ease the burden in the long term including setting up systems and finding additional helpers. It can be a scary time as when things grow they seem to fall apart so it is really useful to share with others about what has worked for them and what has not.
Day 5 speakers and topics include:
Day 6 – Inspiration (bonus day Saturday)
There are some people who are doing all sorts of brilliant work out there. We need to celebrate them and let them inspire us on to greater things.
Day 6 speakers and topics include:
How does this work?
Once you have registered you will be sent a link to the web page where you can download a copy of a guide to what is offered by FC Communities including the upcoming assembly. Closer to the date you will receive an email that includes the links you need to access the speakers. Notice that there are 6 separate days and the talks by each speaker will only be available on that day. You can choose when in the day you watch the speakers but at the end of the day i.e. midnight UK time those videos will become inaccessible.
